Once again, im glad im not the only one.
I kept looking at it and all i see are those prongs.
thank you so much for your feedback.
I will have them adjusted to not be so bulky.
It''s a beautiful ring besides that, and my stone
is beatiful too. Thank you for the complement.
Yes, that''s very pretty.
However, do you think since my head has a bunch of space, the diamond
is pushed up alittle, that i can do with those little prongs covering the diamond?
those prongs are monstrous, definitely need to be shaved down more. you will be amazed at how much larger your stone looks, my ring originally had larger prongs which I didn''t love and WF shaved them down when they put in my new center stone, SO much better.
Thanks Mara, I know i agree with you. Alittle nerve racking, but I totally have to do it.
It''s just way too bulky and takes away from the great Tacori design.
Does anyone else have any examples of a four prongs with a more delicate look.
Also, would they be thinning down just the top, or the whole setting that holds
the diamond, i mean the bars all the way down too?
I see what you mean, im just wondering if your prongs started out like mine, and then
when they set your diamond, did they shave them down so they would not appear
bulky. I bet they did. Maybe Tacori starts with these that I have , and then
yours are the end product a good jeweler making them appear less bulky.
Either way, these are great examples, I hope my jeweler can do it like yours.
I believe he can. This Koala ring makes the diamond sit alittle high, but i set it lower
than NinaStar''s. I think that he can still shave down the prongs and have it appear better.
Thank you both, excellent examples.
I know mine were much squarer on the sample ring. Again that sample was also set higher than mine. I did get it set locally (in New York - Long Island - just in case you are close).
I inspected the ring before it was set and the prongs were very square. - They are now rounded off on all sides (if that makes any sense). I''m sure your jeweler can make them look more proportional - and your stone is the same size as mine ( I think..)
Im kind of close, about 2 hours from Long Island
but i will go to this jeweler so that incase something doesn''t go well, he can send it to Tacori.
I printed out your ring and the Michael B one to show him as examples.
Thank you Laney very much.
Laney, do you then recommend him rounding off the whole complete four prongs all the way to top.
right now the edges on the prongs down to the ring, are squared off.
So, the are not rounded all the way to the ring, but rather a cut edge from the ring up, then
square at the top. confusing. I think i can find a good example in there store too.
I am about to buy a tacori setting. It is like the one you see above except its paved. Do you know if the prongs are the same as this one? My stone is also a 1.5. Thanks
Hi Mrsfrk, thanks for the complement, I think the rings are beautiful too, except for the prongs.
I have examples of the way they should look and was going to fix it today, but it''s snowing
like crazy and i cant drive the 1 hour. I''ll post after my jeweler fixes it and makes it better.
Tacori might start with prongs that large, so the jeweler has something to work with.
Not sure really, because this is the only one I have ever purchased.
Will post picture once it''s done.
Thank you
