Hi all,

In addition to the Scott Kay Tiara http://www.scottkay.com/tiara/d/1172_c_308 , I am considering this Tacori ring :

Scott Kay Tiara

1) In your opinion, is it worth it to go with Tacori for such a simple design?

2) Scott Kay vs Tacori designs? - Which do you prefer?

I am also considering another similar design, http://www.tacori.com/engagement/35-25pr65.html , but in person they don't look too much different. Though the idea of Ascher cut side stones is different. 3) Thoughts/opinions on round vs ascher side stones

Thanks for your input,

Carrie

The stone is just set too high on the Tacori ring. I like a lot of Tacori settings, but in this case, I like the SK better. Although, if your stone is princess cut, that is a very modern stone for an antique style setting. So I have mixed feelings. I probably wouldn't go with Tacori for a plain pave shank ring, though.

Not a fan of those two Tacori rings.

Hello! My engagement ring is Tacori, so I obviously love their rings. The 2 you chose are quite pricey for what you get though and are quite different looking than the Scott Kay ring.

What are you not 100% set on regarding the Scott Kay ring and what features do you like about the Tacori rings?

I'm a big Tacori fan but I also love the Scott Kay setting. I recently had my princess diamond reset into a custom setting modelled after the Tacori Full Bloom. It's a very very close replica. I was only able to see a 1 carat princess model and when I received my 2 carat princess ring back I was really surprised by how high the setting was (9.7mm). It's very beautiful but the difference in scale can really change the look. I don't know the size of your diamond but if possible try to find out how high the finished setting will be with the Tacori's. I'm in the process of resetting again because I just couldn't adjust to the high setting. I don't want to discourage you because I really love all the settings you've chosen but thought I should pass on my experience.
