As an authorized retailer for Tacori products, we received a letter today that we thought might be of interest to the people here on PS and especially those jewelers and designers here on PS who have knocked-off Tacori designs or who have thought about doing so... Here is the portion of the letter which we feel is okay to post without violating Tacori''s legal campaign against offenders:
"The entire Tacori Crescent Silhouette Collection (the styles that have the scallop designs on the shank) is copyrighted and protected by trade dress rights.
Tacori has filed and settled many law suites with companies who have infringed on these copyrights and trade dress by copying the Tacori scallop design.
Tacori is also pursuing legal action against Jewelry Retail Stores who have bought and sold Tacori "knock offs" as part of their inventory."
Tacori is asking the cooperation of jewelers and retail customers in the enforcement of their copyright and designs and asks to be contacted directly if you have purchased or been offered Tacori knock-off''s at (800) 421-9844.
Think what you will about copyright infringement and knock-off''s, but be aware that Tacori is taking the enforcement of their copyright and trade dress protection as seriously as Disney takes theirs... We don''t know anybody stupid enough to knock off those mouse ears
