Hey everyone

so she fell in love with this elaborate ring... figures. I thought she was a simple girl. Totally caught me off guard and now the setting is being quoted for me at $6k-ish (at bailey banks and biddle where we found it).

http://www.tacori.com/mm5/merchant.mvc?Screen=SRCH&Store_Code=TACORI&search=A&offset=0&filter_cat=4&PowerSearch_Begin_Only=&sort=&range_low=&range_high=&layout=&srch_srcha=1&Category_Code=ENGAGEMENT&Product_Code=HT251012X

Is there somewhere I can find a similar piece? The exact model number for this ring that I need is HT2510 6.5 1/2X. I was told the 6.5 denotes the diameter of the center stone. Based on my budget the center stone is going to be a 1.2ct. Hence the smaller version of this ring. Anyone here seen the smaller version is it equally as intricate?

And the biggest question of all - where can I find this in a non-tacori version! I don''t need the brand stamp on the inside of the ring to make her happy!

Thanks guys!

Get it in 18k white gold?

My personal favorite ----> http://www.since1910.com/engagement-rings/tacori/settings-with-sidestones/tacori-setting-w-pave-set-diamonds-29ct-tw-t-2620rdp-set-1245.asp

In my own humble opinion, there isn''t much that matches the intricate detailing of Tacori. I have never really seen a great copy of one of their designs. But if it''s what your gf really wants, I''m of the opinion that she won''t be happy with a copy. Keep in mind that the copy won''t be exact either due to copyright infringement.

Wow guys how did you find these!? They''re almost the same, especially yours dreamer! I couldn''t find anything via google searching "tacori inspired".

I''m trying to make it happen with the tacori setting but 6k for a setting is a bit much. im looking into custom made etc. there''s gotta be another avenue. im gonna check bailey banks and biddle considering they are closing and see if i can get lucky.

does platinum or white gold matter? ive heard certain metals are preferable to hold diamonds in their place.

I think platinum is in some peoples minds the ''perfect'' metal for an engagement ring, but there are for sure pros and cons in each. But the important
thing to know is that Tacori will re-dip or rhodium you ring for free for your lifetime. I don''t think there is any other manufacturer that does
that. In my mind, that makes the 18K white gold a good choice. The only caveat is that your wedding band should be the same metal. Platinum
and 18K should not be worn together as the friction between the two will damage the gold.

If your fiancee loves the Tacori I would go for the original in 18K. It''s beautiful. I wouldn''t want to try to copy it, you would never get close enough.

I may be biased but........

"Ain''t nothing like the real thing baby" "Ain''t nothing like the real thing."

Go for white gold if the platinum is causing hesitation - I have had my Tacori for 2 1/2 years and the compliments have not stopped yet.

I think Tacori rings are beautiful....however, I am VERY partial to Michael Beaudry rings! The craftsmanship is like no other and the stones are only the best. Good luck!

I would try to get her what she wants. If they offer free rhodium plating for life, I think the 18k is the way to go. I think they nearly double the price just for platinum.

Problem of free rhodium plating for life is that it IS for life. Means you have to give up your ring every 1 to 2 years depending on the mix of the white gold. Tacori is probably better mixing, but you will still have to part with your ring. See if they have a paladium white gold mix. it will stay whiter. good luck!!!

I am guilty of falling in love with the same ring.. But there is NO way I''m letting my man spend that ridiculous amount of money on it. Argh. But I did find a jeweler that replicated the ring. It doesn''t look AS nice as the Tacori.. but it does the job.

sorry. redundant info.

I think BBB has been having a lot of going out of business sales and some people have been getting great 70% sale pieces...

Alternately, I love the two DD posted, the second one especially has a lot of the same elements (I actually like it better:-)
