This setting is very much like a no-name manufactured setting I was thinking about buying at a B&M for $1000, but with much more detail, better metal (platinum vs white gold), hand made care, and designer detail. Plus, it is a little wider with larger diamonds. It is with a 7mm CZ (you can see "CZ" written on the stone in the picture), and I will be carefully selecting the 7mm diamond with my GF after I give it to her. She''s very down to earth, and I know she''ll appreciate the 30 day return policy more than she''ll be disappointed about getting a CZ.

The only bad part ... I see some dents in the prongs, maybe from a former 30 day owner who wore it with a band? Maybe just a thing with hand made settings? you can see the dents in the pictures to come. Let me know what you think, I can return it and get another. Thanks.

The dents in the prongs are next to the heart engraving...

I would take this setting to a jeweler and see if the little dents can just be polished out. If so, I doubt it would be very expensive. It''s worth a trip to a good jeweler, though!

The logical thing is to have that fixed when they remove the CZ to set the diamond. That is a beautiful ring and a real bargain!!!

Thanks for the comments, I e-mailed Tacori about setting the diamond and buffing the dent, I also plan on taking it to a local jeweler. The Fedex tracking showed that it came from the same city that Tacori is in, so I don''t think this was a return sitting in overstock.com''s inventory.

Wow, great find! I need to hang out on overstock.com more often.

FYI there are a lot of Tacori rings on overstock right now. It looks like mostly bands...

Well since Tacori settings are handmade they will never be 100% perfect. I think that is part of their charm. I agree with DS. Just have your jeweler buff the prongs when they are setting the diamond. I think it is a beautiful setting and a great price.

Yes, I think you''re right about expecting perfection from something hand made. With the photos being blown up, it actually makes it look worse than it really is. Also, I think the sides will get a little banged up over time once the band is with it. Thanks.

All part of the antique feel
