Ok pricescope dwelers - after much reading, I am reaching out to you advice here in the last hours before I purchase.
I will be purchasing a loose diamond from Blue Nile tonight because I need the diamond in asap. Here is my story:
I am putting this loose stone into a Tacori 6-prong plat. setting. The local jewlery store will take the measurements of the stone I purchase, call Tacori and Tacori will then make the setting to fit the half carat/round cut diamond I am purchasing. The ring is made to normally fit .75 carat diamonds and higher. Even though a new ring/6-prong crown is being made, I am concerned.
My question- with the 6-prong setting (cathedral set - antique style) - I do not want the setting to overwhelm the .50 carat round cut. I believe that with the correct table, crown and girdle, a .50 carat will look perfect. What %''s should I look for?
I have been over the tutorials but I can''t seem to nail down what would be best in my situation. Thanks for the help! If you need more info, let me know!
