Hi everyone, have been browsing the site the past few weeks and it's been very helpful!

I love the Tacori 2628 setting and am trying to decide on the shape for the center stone. I like the way the Princess looks in the 2628PCP on Tacori's website, but she also likes Radiant and Asscher diamonds. The Tacori retailer I visited didn't think a Princess would look good and was raving about an Asscher.

Does this just come down to personal preference or would one of these shapes would be a better choice than the others for this setting?

I am also looking for some other information about this setting. I've emailed Tacori but they said to expect 2 weeks for a reply. The 2628 in 18k gold is usually $5870. There is a variation for $4300 but I cannot find any pictures of it. Without a picture or more information about the differences, it is hard for me to decide whether to go with the $4300 and spend more on the diamond, or the $5870 and less on the diamond. Any input is appreciated!

FWIW I am thinking an eye clean diamond in the 1.25-1.75 ct range.

Thanks for reading!

GoodOldGold carries tancori, maybe you can call them and see if they can get you any images.

Two other questions not directly related to the Tacori setting:

The jeweler mentioned that the Asscher cuts tend to appear whiter than their color grade. This was okay, but today I read in the PriceScope Knowledge section "It is very easy to see inclusions and lower colour in emerald cut diamonds because they have a less "cluttered" look."

Is this issue open to interpretation or is what the jeweler told me just incorrect? I am assuming an Asscher would be similar to an Emerald due to their similarities.

Other question, jeweler mentioned he may be able to get some ungraded diamonds from his dealer and that if so I could get a better diamond for the same $. Any advice on buying an ungraded diamond? Thanks so much!

Thanks! I will.

The question will be why he has these ungraded stone if getting graded by GIA/AGS will only cost him a further 1-200 USD and with the grading report he can sell it for almost twice the price? If, he says it is because of time constraint, ask that you pay for the grading by GIA if it comes back the grade as he says it is.

Step cuts, including asschers, usually show more color than well-cut rounds.

I love the setting as well and was told by Tacori that they larger version is made for a 1.5 ct. stone, if that helps. It really does look perfect in that setting. If you do choose a radiant, please keep in mind
that the stone will face up smaller than a round. For instance, I have a yellow radiant that is 1.21 and it faces up more like a 1 ct stone. I do believe that is pretty common in a radiant.

It is a beautiful setting, good luck with your search

beautiful setting but IMO $5870 for an 18k WG setting is really high. i would contact leon or mark at ERD for a custom quote (with some changes of course) or opt for another setting. i know that the 2620 is around $3800 in PT for your stone size. if WG is what you desire, i would find a simialr setting from Tacori or again custom and put more money towards the stone.

btwn an asscher, princess and radiant, i prefer asschers. aniother option is a cushion.

I''m probably a little late in helping you but have you dropped by an authorized tacori dealer in your area? They have a huge book that has ALLLLLL and I mean ALLLL variations of allllll the rings. A lot of them are not even on the site! Thats actually how I got my dream ring. THe one on the website said like 7000 to 13000 and up and I thought omg.... cuz i wanted both the band and the ering at the same time. But when I went to the jeweler, they totally worked with me to make sure everything was in my budget. hope i''m not too late!

Take a look at the book! its great!
