My one year wedding anniversary is this Sunday, and I just noticed when I louped my band that the milgraining has disappeared over the course of the year. Yup, one year and there''s no milgraining to be found.

Can it be re-milgrained?

Here is a link to my exact band:

Tacori 2526ETML

My band is platinum. It is still perfectly round, prongs appear to be in great shape, no missing/loose stones, and the smooth sides have minimal patina/fine scratching.

It''s just that the milgraining is gone.

Ideas? Thank you!!!

Have your jeweler send it back to Tacori.

Yes, send it back to Tacori and have them re-do the miligrain.

I''d rather get it done locally so I am not without it.

Would I be stupid to look for someone local? Is it difficult to re-milgrain?

Yes IMO you are asking for trouble if you try to have it done locally. Most places won''t be able to do a good job, it''s very fine work.

I wouldn''t take a chance - let Tacori do it the way it was originally done.

I understand why you don''t want to go without it - I hate it when I take my ering to be replated and they keep it overnight - it feels like it''s gone for such a long time

BUT you''re only had the ring one year and it should be fixed by Tacori.

Not a good idea! If you have seen the difference between good milgraining (like Tacori''s) and bad being w/o your wedding ring for a week or so would not be an issue.

Plus wouldnt Tacori cover it under their warranty? Youd have to pay to get it done locally. Idk that could be wrong but I would assume that much.

Tacori guarantees their work -- at least that is what our jeweler said. With the length of time on your everyday wear of this ring being only a year, and their usual policy of fixing flaws for free, I would say that chances are good you will not be paying for this repair as you would with a local jeweler. If a major problem ever arises with my e-ring, I will definitely send it to Tacori for repair.

Please let Tacori redo it. Then your warranty won''t be void. If someone local messes it up, then you really would be upset and you would have to send it back to Tacori for repairs anyway.

Definitely send it to Tacori...but wow, that''s a bummer that it''s gone after only a year!

Many thanks to all for the unanimous opinion. Guess I''ll be sending it back to Tacori for repairs.

Well, eventually....

It will also void your Tacori warranty if anyone but Tacori does work on it....

(My friend found out about this the hard way...)
