Hi everyone, I have a question on my new diamond. I seem to notice the table reflecting quite a bit and it bothers me. Do I notice it more because it is a larger diamond or do you think there is something wrong with it? It is very easy to find and catches my eye a lot. Let me know what you think. Thanks!

Ignore that.

That's just the way all cut gems are.
CZs or cut glass would do this too.

There is nothing you can do about it.
Nothing is wrong.

Change the angle slightly and it will go away.

alamb, it''s true, they all do that. Personally, I love the look.

It''s funny how two people can look at the same thing, and one loves it, one hates it. I''m not sure why you don''t like it, is it because you can''t see into the table? If so, think about what you can see, that beautiful ring around it.

I''ll post a couple of my favorites.

Thanks guys, I think I''ve been overanalyzing to death. I truly do love my diamond, I never noticed this before in any other diamond, I guess I''ve been looking at it a lot and since it is 3 carats compared to my prior 1 carat, it is more pronounced. I feel better just knowing this is normal and not some fisheye, nailhead, death circle, bad cut, deep steep, blah, blah blah or whatever the heck I''m always reading about.

I''ve read that about 20% of the light should be reflecting off the diamond and 80% passes into it. I couldn''t tell you why yours might be reflecting more. Look at the grading report. Is the polish graded pretty good for it? Is there any irregular surface graining? Maybe it needs to get cleaned.

Table glare is normal. On my radiant with a larger table, it is much larger than your picture. This is one reason some prefer smaller tables, along with fire and other reasons.

the larger the stone the more diameter the table will be and larger the facets will each be. same # of facets, larger stone! i noticed it too with my last upgrade. you just get used to it. i don''t love table glare so i just turn my hand a little bit more then whala typically can get it to go away and then i can see something else like sparkly facets.
