ha....
what a roller coaster...
but it is finally done. the saga was worthy of a short story.
lesson to be learned for future guys/girls like me buying their ring out there... just get the stone and setting from WHITEFLASH or any other top notch online vendor ""at the same time""..
dont try to get the stone loose and then go scurry around town trying to find someone competent enough to make a setting while in your brain justifying it because you want to "support your local economy"... lol.. what a whirlwind. From the old german guy who made a setting that looked like it came out of a cracker jack box, uneven on the shank with crooked prongs to another guy who put prongs on there that were all dented to the 6 subsequent stops at jareds as they set it too low and then ordered another shank and had it the wrong size to them setting it and having the diamond leaning all crooked to them finally getting it right...
my god... praise baby jesus and our new pope jorge for giving me strenght to get through those last 3 weeks.. lol..
but.. in the end...
i got exactly what i wanted, and i am exxttreemely happy with the final result..
oh another piece of advice for you guys/girls out there...
absolutely dont you dare settle for anything that isnt exactly what you want.. i dont care who you got it from.. continually send it back if its not perfect to your standards.. we paid too much $$$$ for it to "settle" on what it looks like
