symmetry/polish ex/vg/g importance

Hi,
How important are the GIA symmetry and polish grades in getting a brilliant diamond? Should I exclude "good''s" in either or both category? I''m trying to find a 1-1.15 ct G/SI1 or SI2 (eye clean)that will sparkle great for under $4500. I''m not willing to pay quite the premium for a heart''s and arrows, etc. but would like the next best thing.

Hi Aggie,

If you can find a diamond within your requirements and budget with an Excellent polish it will make all the difference in the world.

I agree with DimonBob, but if you find a stone you really love with good/good ratings, then don't get discouraged...
Under a microscope you'll see a slight difference, but with the naked eye... Well, almost kaka
