Suspension settng for oval? 1/2 Bezel and Suspension?

We have a 6x8mm oval blue saphire that is 5mm deep for an egnagement ring. We want to mount it in a platinum or white gold setting with the stone set horizontaly (across the finger as opposed to along the lenght of the finger).

We are interested in a suspension setting or a 1/2 bezel or something which combines a bit of both.
One of the things we''ve thought about would be like this...imagine a partially raised suspension setting where the part that grips the stone is in the shape of a 1/2 bezel and where the side of the stone is visible from the side of the ring.

At any rate, we''re having a hard time with this and would appreciate advice, links to jewelers with good supsension designs, good 1/2 bezel designs, or something which combines both.
