Surprise! New sapphire & diamond pendant!

The surprise is on me! My best friend is getting married in a couple of months, and I am her maid of honor. I just threw her a bachelorette weekend trip, and she doesn''t know this, but I''m also throwing her a huge shower at my house in a couple of weeks

Anyway, I was helping her put together her wedding invitations the other day, and she said that she wanted to give me my attendant gift early - her & her fi had just gone shopping for their wedding bands, and she picked this for me, but couldn''t wait to give it to me, since she knows I''m such a jewelry buff - it''s a beautiful pear-shaped natural sapphire in a micropave diamond airline halo set in white gold. I just love it! Here are a couple of pics. The blue of the sapphire is just not coming up as bright and fiery in photos as it is in real life, but I think the photos still came out pretty good:

Thanks Maisie! I know, I told her so many times that I thought the gift was WAY too generous, I would have been happy with some cool costume jewlery to wear with my maid of honor dress, but she said that I had been doing so much to help with the wedding planning stuff, they really wanted to get me something special - I was beyond touched.
