What does surface graning is not shown mean on the comments of a GIA cert? I looked a nice stone today.

2.01 round
H
SI1 (small feather on the outter outter rim of stone
Excellent cut
Very Good polish
Excellent sym

57% table
62.2 depth
35 crown angle
41.2 pav angle

Seems nice but I dont like the comment because I dont understand it? Is it a big deal? What would you expect to pay for this stone? Thanks

Surface graining is a common remark on grading reports and usually isn't a big deal, try a search for more info as BJ says, there is lots of info on this subject out there. This diamond is known as a steep/ deep judging by the crown and pavillion angles, but it still could be a pretty diamond, check it out in as many different lights as possible before purchase.
