hi,

I just saw my friend diamond. Her diamond is not looking like an ordinary round cut diamond. When I looked into the table, i don't see many lines going into the centre of the diamond.
I have never seen this type of diamond before, not even in Tiffany.

attached picture will be very closed to the diamond that i just saw.

any idea what makes the difference ?

It's actually single cut diamond.

I know it normally comes in small carat, but this one is 0.7 carat.

do you have any idea where to find them ? or any picture?

No, it is not a single cut diamond 8) It is a modern RB, looks like a basic commercial grade. Does it have a lab report?

Hi

Please disregard the picture above.

It s actually closer to the picture in the below link.
So it is a single cut diamond

+1

The diamond in the pic in your original post is not a single cut.

If you like it then you like it, but it is not a single cut.

Here are three pics of single cut round diamonds compared to the relatively busy one you posted.

You're going to have to prove that with a real picture of the actual diamond. There is no such thing as a .7 single cut diamond as so many people have tried to tell you now.

The pic you posted is not an Old European Cut.
It looks like a poorly-cut example of the modern brilliant round cut.

Was it a rose cut?

I have a .5ct single cut, which I didn't know was single cut until our darling Circe louped it at a get-together.
If your friend has a single cut, it's very rare to have them in such large sizes.
If you like a less busy cut than the typical RB, look into older cuts, such as the old european or rose cut. GOG perfected the OEC with their August Vintage Round line.

I remember WD's single cut clearly - I'd never seen or heard of anything like it! Before that I'd been fully convinced single cuts were strictly melee.

WD that stone really is lovely

Most every modern round brilliant is a single cut for a short part of its life during the manufacturing process. Essentially what the OP wants is a diamond that has been blocked into that single cut, but not been through the brillianteering process.
