I fink you are right. I think that is why I love perfume so much, you can experience a little of the glamour.

I wanted to throw in, if you guys want something to lighten the day in summer, Isabey Gardenia does that for me (it''s my next bottle to own). It literally makes my day feel cooler.

I need to sample that one, I find gardenia a tricky note for me.

i think someone needs to invent the scratch n sniff monitor. i just read through this thread and have this strange urge to visit perfume counters and sephora...

i just started getting interested in perfumes last year, and i admit half the time the pretty bottles do me in more than the scent

i haven''t really moved on to any of the expensive ones yet, and while the overall scent preference really depends onmy mood, i seem to love the woodsy/musky/spicy ones, any recommendations? i wouldn''t mind being enabled

also has anyone tried victoria''s secret lace? it''s different than most everything i''ve smelled before but i just might end up getting it.

the Douce Amere intrigues me. i love absinthe, wonder if i''d get the same weird dreams from smelling like it. hehe and Louve sounds yummy, so that might end up being my guilty pleasure

Oh if you love Absinthe then you MUST try Douce Amere, get the Green Fairy magic! Louve is yummy, I find it only lasts a couple of hours on my skin though - bah!

PERFUME MANUFACTURERS IF YOU ARE READING THIS.

I and other fragrance fans appreciate the fact that it is difficult these days when your hands are tied with restricted ingredients, especially with the classic fragrances where oakmoss and suchlike are difficult to obtain and can't be used in such quantities any more. However it would be wonderful if when concocting these expensive elixirs that you give the customer value for money in giving the perfumes some staying power please. I am sick of spending a fortune on a tiny bottle of very expensive liquid only to apply it and have it vanish without trace in 90 minutes or less.

If you could at least consider this sincere plea I would be most grateful.

To test Tabac Blond you might have to order samples online.


Sephora is tons of fun, and they will fix samples for you as well!

if i end up loving the tabac blonde, and my boy does to i will have to tease him since he likes to say that he prefers brunettes

sephora is oh so brightly colored, and i get a kick out of seeing the pictures of half naked guys in a beauty store. i did not expect that at all (oo mascara, lipstick, sixpack...)

would you like some of my skin lorelei? it sometimes most unfortunately holds onto scents for a very long time. and stains far too easily with magic markers. i came home from school a lot when i was younger with tye-dyed hands. i do agree that for spending such large amounts of money some of them don''t seem to stick around very long although they smell so wonderfully at first. i''m all for prolonged enjoyment of top notes!

I would! Getting sick of mine, it won''t hold perfume at all well. I use oil in the shower, nothing works.

Try www.theperfumedcourt.com for samples, Dragon has had some from them and been pleased.

I adore the Perfumed Court. They are fantastic to work with, timely, and they always send me little candies. If you order more than one they sometimes come separate depending no which of the ladies has it in house. But they are my main sample supplier.

Lorelei - have you not tried Isabey Gardenia? I thought you had! Both Isabey and Chanel aren''t the strong precise gardenia, but more of a white floral mixture. They are both VERY light and Isabey honestly makes the day feel cooler to me. I''m a bit disappointed with the lasting power of the Chanel Gardenia... So many for me last until at least mid afternoon if not into the evening, and here it is 1 PM and it''s nearly gone

May not go for this one. But at least it helps me narrow it down. Isabey lasted quite some time on me if I remember correctly. I''ll have to give it a go tomorrow.

It''s Perfect!!! hehe, I wore it Saturday all day. Yesterday I tried out Aimez Moi and I love it, seriously.... love it. It''s a sweeter white floral, and I WILL own some of it. today I''m wearing Fleurs de Rocaille and am also enjoying it thoroughly. It''s a floral as well but not as sweet smelling. So I''m thinking that Caron will be my signature line and I''ll end up owning them all... yep... .that''s what I think.
