Interesting... I believe there was an article about this same thing a few weeks ago, etching the pavilion surface?



My first thought is that this ''etched surface'' will be a dirt magnet - even more than polished diamonds already are -

I do not imagine it would be a big issue Yssie.
The etch markings appear to be much smaller than most dirt particles and really it is oily greasy stuff that wets the diamonds surface and reduces the Refractive Index difference at the surface - that is the bigger problem.
