Hello pricescopers!

I hope you’re all doing safe and well. Our plans for our upcoming 10 year anniversary present changed due to covid. We were going to get the Tiffany embrace band but due to financial concerns, we decided to go with diamond studs instead ( not complaining!)

My husband wanted to get me a pair of ACA studs totaling .64ctw I color with the six prong martini stud. However I told him I rather have money out towards bigger studs versus the 6 prong martini setting which is pricey. So he changed the order to .84ctw J color studs with the standard 4 prong setting. I figured we could always change the setting down the line.

Was it a bad idea to upgrade the stud but downgrade the setting and color? I’m betting on these being my forever studs.
 
I would always advocate for putting money on a stone or stone rather than settings. Until you have the earrings and wear them for awhile, you will not know if you would want to entertain an upgrade later on down the road.
 
yes- agree that spend more money on the stone.

Colour is very subjective.

I saw a K colour ACA studs the other day, from one poster on here... and they were amazingly white.
 
You can always swap out mountings... putting the $ into the stones is the priority IMO. And, you never know... you may just decide you are fine with the mountings!

In regards to the prongs, would you consider 3 prong, martini setting. It will just show less prong and more diamond. Just a thought.
Also, have you considered the backs. I had posted on another thread I bought diamond studs for my daughter and she lost one with the friction back. The next set had the “LaPousette” backs, they are are disk and clamplike mechanism that won’t come off. You can ask WF about them. Good luck and wear them in the best of health.

Thank you for this suggestion! I believe my earrings will be ready tomorrow and ready for pick up by Friday. I will ask WF it this is something that can be easily changed. I would hate to lose a stud ( or two!)

I think you will love you went with the bigger stones. You can always trade up color later!

They are gorgeous!! I have been considering J color for studs. What are your thoughts on color?

Thank you! I love mine and I’m sure you’ll love yours too. For their size they pack a mighty little punch don’t they? I get complimented on them all the time. And mine are a K! I have no regrets on color.

They are a perfect size and look beautiful on you. I have H studs and a J color ERing. I can’t tell the difference in color!
