Short version: K I1 with "strong" yellow fluorescence -- is it me (or my cheap blacklight), or is that TERRIBLY disappointing? These pictures actually do reproduce what I see pretty well. Shouldn't it be... brighter? Thoughts?
ETA: The upper left is my E-ring with SBF, lower right is the diamond in question.

Long version: I love fluorescence and have fixated on the idea of getting a small diamond for a RHR with non-blue fluorescence. Thanks to kemurphy's excellent suggestion from an earlier thread -- https://www.pricescope.com/community/threads/fluorescence-colors-other-than-blue.189628/#post-3454879#p3454879 -- I was using Google to search b2cjewels' inventory. And I found this stone, http://www.b2cjewels.com/dd-3713171-0.70-carat-Round-diamond-K-color-I1-clarity.aspx , which was graded as having strong yellow fluorescence, and had an acceptable color and clarity and cut. (My criteria there are WAY looser, since I like bigger diamonds better than smaller ones and the budget's not unlimited! Turns out I'm neither color- nor clarity-sensitive and the inclusion looks way worse on the B2C photo than it does in person!
) I was all set to LOVE this diamond.
So, it was my Christmas present! But... it is sad. And barely fluoresces. It doesn't even hold a (weak, pathetic) candle to the spotlight of Kenny's fancy vivid yellowish-orange pear, which was also graded as SYF.
Could it be my cheapo UV light? I have this one -- http://www.amazon.com/Inova-BB-UV-Ultraviolet-Microlight-Clip/dp/B0045JL9ZW/ref=sr_1_2?s=hardware&ie=UTF8&qid=1388105004&sr=1-2&keywords=inova+UV+light -- and obviously my E-ring with SBF just eats it up, but maybe yellow fluorescence needs... a shorter wavelength or something.
Sigh. I haven't looked at it in sunlight yet, maybe that'll change things, but I'm thinking I need to return this one and continue the hunt.
Anybody found any diamonds under $1k with strong fluorescence in any funny colors lately?
