Hi all,

I''m currently looking for RB for an E-ring. I''m trying to decide on what size stone looks better but haven''t yet seen enough examples to make my choice. I''m currently deciding between something in the 1.1-1.25ish ct range and the 1.5-1.6 ct range. At first, I figured bigger is always better, but after looking around a bit, maybe 1.5-6 might be too big for my taste? I''m not really sure so I''m hoping all you nice girls with similar finger sizes could come and post up a hand shot with your rings on!

Thanks everyone! :)

This one is a guide.

The 'Show me the ring' forum on here has plenty of pictures of RBs in different sizes. The best way to decide is to go to a jeweler and try on differnt styles and stones. You can't get a true idea from looking at pictures. After looking at pictures posting here I wanted a princess channel set wedding band, but when I actually tried some on with my e-ring, I didn't like the look of them.

Happy shopping

my husband helped me with photoshop. the measurements were a bit wonky, so i actually resized the photo so that it matches perfectly with my hand in real life. and then i measured the 'diamond' by putting a ruler up to the screen. he thought i was crazy, and really, i am.

i'm a size 5.5-6.

here's my 1ct, which only faces up 6.06mm x6.10mm

7.5mm (1.55-60ct)

Here is my 1.21 carat semi bezel with a 3.3mm shank on size 4.. size 5 isn''t really that much bigger than my finger (I tried on my sister and she''s a size 5 stone her''s was a .95 carat) still looks substantial.

I wear a 1.46 stone on a size 5.5 - hope this is helpful! I know when I was choosing, what I wanted, it was really helpful to see how things looked on other people ....

Okay, here''s a 1.63 ct. stone (7.6mm) in a size 5.5 ring (with memoire band with almost .11 stones):

And not a great picture, but it shows my original 1.0 ct. stone with the new 1.63 ct. stone:

I think a nice compromise is the 1.35-1.49 range. It has almost the size of a 1.5, but you don''t pay for the price jump at 1.5.

Thanks everyone for your replies. The pictures do help quite a bit. I think in the end, I''ll go for whatever stone I like the best, because it seems either size will look great.

As far as compromising and going for a 1.3ct or so, I think I''d love to do that, but I haven''t really found much in the price range I''d be looking for a stone of that size. If anyone out there knows of a j-k color stone for 5500 or so in a 1.3 range, I''d love to hear about it (fat chance huh?)!

Ha...I just realized that I''m an average of 1 post a year! Talk about super lurker status.

Welcome lurker. I don''t have a RB so I couldn''t post a photo. I found the pricescope diamond search (click on home and you''ll find it) to be very very helpful. It let me play with changing color or clarity and then see what that did to the price. And it eventually led me to a diamond!!

Thanks for the tip. I''ve actually had that one sitting in my favorites folder for a week or two now. I''ve contacted WF and have asked for more info. Going to meet Mark at ERD tomorrow as well. We''ll see what he comes up with!

Thanks again!

I''ll throw one more in, for future posters if nothing else. Here''s my 1.40 on 5.5.

kalare, hope you find what you''re looking for!

Here''s my 1.35 on a size 5.25. I think it looks plenty substantial. Mine is set up a little on the high side, and people ask me all the time if it''s two carats.

This thread has been very helpful so far. I am about to pull the trigger today on a 1.33CT for my FF''s E-ring. Her ring size is 5.5.

@Kelli
Your photo is expecially helpful, because the setting I have will cause the diamond to be set relatively high. Yours looks HUGE set like this. I was wondering if you had any photos shot from the side, so I can judge the setting height.
