Stone Help

Going to repost as I need some help asap!!! Thanks alot.

Have a GIA certified stone for $12,400 - please let me know your thoughts. Obviously a more expensive stone since it's bought from a storefront, rather than online.

I'm always a little worried about si2 and G color stones......are these still a quality stone??? There are fairly large inclusions starting from the outside and working their way to the center....will this be a problem or am I being too picky???

Mantrig looks good on paper but can we see the stone its all bout where the inclusions are and what type. Have you asked if it is eye clean. Ask for ideal scope. You need to see it.....

No flags in what you've posted so far. Date of report? And post clarity plots.

Great that you're buying in-person - all the numbers and scans and pictures in the world aren't nearly as good as actually seeing the stone with your own eyes. The caveat, of course, being that your eyes have some idea of what to look for... and the only way to train your eyes is to look at stones in-person, so you're moving right along

Wear a white or grey shirt and go back to the vendor, have the stone cleaned, and walk around the store with it. Inspect it under halogens, fluorescents, by the window in sunlight, in the shade, make sure that
A) you like what you see in terms of light return, and
B) it's clean to your specifications, whatever they are (do you want to see nothing face-up from 8-10"? 5"? On tilt/from the sides? If you're choosing a very open setting the side view might matter more to you, in which case the likelihood of having to go up in clarity increases)
Then rub your fingers all over it and get it a bit grubby (diamonds don't stay spotlessly clean through the day!) and make sure it's still clean to your requirements through all those different types of lights.

All of this is great advice, Yssie... I wouldn't have thought to get the stone dirty, but since most of us can't keep our diamonds spotless every day, this is an important point! Also, most people probably wouldn't think about how the colors they wear can affect the appearance/color of the stone.
