Still stressing about my matched pair for studs at BGD.

Guys, I probably should have done more research before buying my new studs at BGD a few days ago. I just realized that the stones may not be that well-matched because of the difference in table angles, despite my using the BGD "matched pairs" tool. Both are BG Signature stones. Here are the specs:

Diamond 1: 0.430 J VS2
4.84 x 4.88 x 2.99
table 54.1
depth 61.7
crown 15.5
pavilion % 43.0

Diamond 2: 0.434 J VS2
4.87 x 4.89 x 2.99
table 56.0
depth 61.3
crown 15.3
pavilion % 43.0

May not be too late to start over. The stones are not yet set AFAIK. What say you?

They will be completely, totally fabulous together! That table size difference will NOT stand out at all even with the stones next to each other in-hand, and it absolutely positively won't make any difference at all in terms of appearance or type or amount of light return on the ears, no worries ::)

Oh Yssie, you're a doll. Thanks so much. :) Guess what? I went with the 8-prong martini settings, inspired by yours! I hope they look good on these smaller stones. What do you think?

You've picked some serious sparklers :sun: I had stones pretty much exactly that size in 8-prong martinis and they looked perfect in those settings so I know it's a great match! I love stargurl's and Andelain's earrings and they're the same size too (pics are okay, right?)

*snort*! Always. So beautiful, my gosh.

BUT... need to stop myself from investigating your whole jewelry collection, for [what's left of] my own mental health. Let's see how I do with that. ;-)

Tables of 54 and 56 are so very close in appearance and performance; you really won't be able to tell a difference. No worries!

This matched pair will look lovely, especially in 8 prong settings. I can't wait to see them! :appl:

sugarski - I think you made a great choice! I LOVE 8-prong studs and I think yours will be gorgeous. You must post lots of pics once you receive them.

Thank you Yssie for mentioning my studs! 8) Your Daniel M studs and Andelain's WF studs were the inspiration for mine! (Did you keep the Daniel M pair after upgrading to your gorgeous WF studs?)

sugarski & stargurl - aww ::) my collection is small but it feels *finished* and I really like feeling like I get to enjoy each piece, so I guess this is it for me for a while! I don't have the DM studs anymore - I cannibalized the stones for a ring for my mum, but those 8-prong settings are addictive - I knew that whenever I got new studs they'd have to be the same!

If you get them and can tell them apart, I will send you a check for $5 ;))

Ah yes, I remember that ring now. That makes sense though, I'm sure the DM studs would have been neglected after receiving those WF studs anyways =)

Thanks, stargurl! I think your earrings are fantastic!!! And I will definitely post pics... but I suspect I will need a lot of help with it. ;-)

I'm with you and stargurl about the 8 prongs. I just like how they emphasize the roundness of the stone. And your collection is not only beautiful, but photographed so gorgeously that I now NEED something in unplated wg.
