hi all - we just had our cultural pakistani wedding 2 weekends ago it was a 3 day event and was very nice! we have our american wedding coming up in feb 7! and we still havent booked our honeymoon yet!

we are currently looking into hawaii - kauai to be exact but just found out that airfare alone is 454 per person and that they dont have any all inclusive resorts. im going to look into honolulu as well.

we are looking for a tropical destination with great weather and beaches with things to do as well.. diff exurcions like swim with dolphins, water sports, spa, etc. we are in our mid 20s.

do you have any suggestions???

i really wanna spend like 2500 - 2700 plus or minus a couple hundred..

thanks!!!

From what I have heard Hawaii is VERY expensive and there is no way you could never do it for under $3000.

Perhaps, mexico, jamaica or somewhere like that would be a better option for your price range. I too wanted to go to Hawaii but could never afford it at this point.

Maybe someone else here has been to hawaii and can give you an estimate on how much a trip would cost.

I have no idea how much the airfare costs from the US to Thailand but I would recommend Phuket, I know a few people who have been there, honeymooned there (we plan to go at the end of next year) and they all loved it.

Lots to do and it is fairly cheap.

I would look into Mexico as well. You can find something all inclusive and nice for your price range.

Look into the Hilton Waikoloa Village on the Big Island of Hawaii. Hotels in Hawaii are really hurting for business right now - so you should be able to find good rates.

I don''t think is necessarily true. When some friends and I turned 18 we took a trip to hawaii and with airfare it was roughly 2000 at the most. This was also right after 911 when you had to pay extra for security or whatever it was they were doing. We had found an all inclusive hotel i think (I have a bad memory) But it was called the beachcomber. Unfortunately it wasnt right next to the beach but it was only a block to walk there and we loved looking at all the fun shops on our way back and forth. I really think you would love it, its so beautiful :) Just beware- it is one heck of a long plane ride lol and we had to sit through some crappy steve martin movie haha

Check out www.funjet.com - they often have last minute deals that are pretty reasonable.

If you''re desperate for a good deal, here''s how I did Hawaii on the cheap last year.

I was offered a 5 night package through Marriott resorts to stay at the Ko''Olina Marriott, but we''d have to go to a timeshare presentation. It took 30 minutes, and we politely declined, and we were allowed to spend the rest of our trip in peace.

The best part, the hotel and rental car were included for the 5 nights for $599 - hotel and rental in total. I then used AA points for both of our plane tickets, and the whole trip cost us less than $600 plus food and fun.

Yes, our room wasn''t ocean view, but it was a HUGE one bedroom suite with a full kitchen. Just an idea, because it was a great time for a tiny amount of money.

I was just reading the most recent Conde Nast Traveler magazine and it said that Hawaii is the cheapest it has been in many years. I would still look into it.

Also, BF and I stayed at a Sandals Resort in Jamaica last year. It was a great time, very romantic. And reasonably priced. I would definitely suggest going for an all-inclusive.
