Steven Kirsch - Russian diamonds seem really cheap if real!

Site says they're Russian. Are they synthetic? Seem really cheap if they are real!

For example, one can get a 4.22ct G VVS1 ideal-cut for $42,750. Similarly, an EC of 4.83ct F VVS1 can be had for $40,040. Another EC, a 5ct F VS2 is priced at $26,600 and a 7ct EC H VS2 for $25,970!!

Anyone has any insight?

Yeah, something there seems ... off. I mean, for one thing - just the English major in me - they're "daimonds," not diamonds, which seems oddly unprofessional for a site trading in such large sums. For another, they're "sertificates." Between the carelessness and the low prices, I sort of want to confirm that it's actually the Steven Kirsch and not somebody using his name for a quick grift ....

Because, no, there's no way they can be synthetic, not unless a huge technological leap has been made - nobody's making 5 carat white synthetic diamonds. Maybe the currency converter is just as wonky as the spelling? If not, SWOOP IN.

Yes, I did notice the typos and/ or unintentional mis-spellings too.

It seem to be THE SK that we know here on PS. The site looks similar to the one I've seen when I searched before.

I agree that they can't be CZ's either, as they'd be very expensive if they were CZ's.

I emailed him already! If these were genuine great deals (which I still doubt) by the time I get up tomorrow, I'm sure my dream diamond would be gone!

The skeptic in me says it must not be the real deal, either that or we've all been had by the diamond industry/ De Beers!

Me too! I'm surprised noone else has seen this! I mean SK has been around for a while now, it's not like he's only just popped up! How come noone has posted on this before?! Or maybe they just wanted to keep these great deals all to themselves and as I mentioned, we might have been had by the diamond industry all these years!

I'm not sure the diamonds are GIA/AGS certified.

I'll take one of the 2.5+ct I/SI1 rounds for $6900. (or the 4.24 ct I/VS2 asscher for 11.5K, or the 3 ct cushion for 8K)

Something must be wrong with these listings. The "sertificates" dont load which is possibly because they aren't real. I will be watching this thread eagerly to see the resolution.

ETA - just clicked to "add to cart" and it seemed like it would let me buy it. It also noted that the certification is from EGL USA (this is for one of the 2.5ct rounds) but even so ....6900?? I guess we dont know much of the measurements except table, depth and LxW so it could definitely be a dud... but I bet a lot of people would risk re-cuts for these prices.

ETA AGAIN - oh no! just added a cushion to the cart and it said GIA!

You know the old saying..if it seems to be too good to be true....

The stones that are priced weird are either errors and or likely are not GIA or AGS. This is a virtual inventory. You can likely look at any virtual inventory that has non-GIA stones and see these kinds of things.

I think Charmy is right, I think the site is still unfinished and they are just testing the pages/functionality. I was poking around the site and several of the pages came up as blank or saying "test". But if not, I'll take that 4 ct cushion for $9k on there!

it definitely seems too good to be true....but it also seems strange that you can put one of those stones in your "shopping cart" that says it has a GIA certificate and everything. I wonder if they are legally bound by any of that.. I seem to remember something about offer and acceptance for internet purchases that makes me think they arent bound but how can they have these advertised prices unless its true? You would think they would be more careful if what they are doing is just setting up the system.

Anyone wanna be brave and try to buy something?

I called Steven Kirsch today and he said they were testing the website over the last weekend. The accurate prices should be reflected by next weekend
