so i never used to think about this what scratches against what when worn together thing, but i have a 14K WG ring and I wear it pretty often on my finger together with a sterling silver band, for something like the past 2 years. the sterling silver has kind of irregular sides (little sideways hearts on it) so it would seem like it should have scratched up the gold by now. i never used to give doing this a second thought til i stumbled on this forum..
ive never had one scratch the other but i got to thinking after all these "white gold gets scratched by platinum worn together" threads, is sterling silver supposed to scratch gold and vise versa?
and also with platinum being so easily scratched, wouldn''t wearing white gold and paltinum together actually cause the platinum MORE harm than platinum would cause gold?
