Hi everyone! Does anyone have a ring that mixes the two? I''m interested in rings such as a brilliant between two step traps...or a elmerald between two brill traps..or an asscher with princess channel setting...etc.

I''ve already searched the forum for this topic and it seems like most people think brilliant looks best with brilliant, and step with step. Besides halos with round stones around a step cut, I haven''t seen many rings with this combination. I''ve seen some on the King of Jewelry site but that''s about it. (And their pictures are hard to see) As I posted elsewhere in this forum, I''m very indecisiive, and I love aspects of both cuts. I''d love to see some examples of this type ring design if anyone has one. Thanks!

Your ring is so beautiful! I just searched to see more pics and it really is amazing. A beautiful example of combining step and brilliant. (And a huge one! omg

) Thank you for posting!

for me personally, i think a brilliant cut center with step cut sides is great... but the opposite, step cut center with brilliant cut sides, doesn''t work quite as well...

I think they would look great together and I love Bebe''s ring.

I think it can be a lovely combination :)

yum yum...

I used to be really sure on this - I did not like it at all, it was my biggest diamond peeve. Silly! Have to say, there are some rings here that made me change my mind. I think the brilliant centre with step cut sides combination works best. As with all matters of taste and choice, if you love it, it works!

thanks.
Leon Mege was a little hesitant about putting the 2 together, but after we started playing around with the stones in his
office, he liked the idea. I had no idea using the traps was that unusual.

Holy moly! This ring is gorgeous!!!!!!!!!!!! Love it!

Kittybean has a beautiful emerald cut with round side stones. Sorry that I don''t have a pic of it, but you could probably search for it.

I am also posting a pic of my bands, which mix a round band with a square-cut band. I love the look because they each give off a different kind of sparkle at the same time.

I have a ring with traps on the side and a round stone in the middle... I love the look.

ETA- I'm not engaged yet and that ring is sooo dirty.. sorry!

Iloveasscher--That is such a unique ring! I love how delicate it is!

Thanks for posting your rings everyone! They are all just lovely.

I found some other examples online and thought I''d post them in case someone else checks this thread with hopes of finding some pics.

I was going to mention kittybean''s too. I think I remember her saying that she was apprehensive about it, because she heard about it before she saw it in person, but that she ended up loving it. I could be remembering someone else saying that, but it makes sense for it to be her with the round sidestones and emerald cut center. And her ring is BEAUTIFUL!

Thanks for pointing out kittybean''s ring, Kelli. I forgot about that one. I loooove it! Such a pretty ring! And I wish I had her small fingers! Hope she doesn''t mind my posting it here.

oops can''t seem to upload this pic correctly. Sorry! But trust me, if anyone hasn''t seen it, do a search for it!

I like the look. Here''s my asscher chrysoberyl with traps and round brilliants.

I never mind my ring being reposted! Thank you so much Lily, Kelli, and EHR for your kind words about it. I was worried about my beloved step cut paired with RBs before I saw it IRL, but I adore my e-ring! It''s in my avatar at the moment, but here''s a link to my original SMTR thread if anyone wants to see more photos.

Those kind words are well deserved Kittybean! Lately, I''ve been leaning toward an emerald cut myself (I''m very indecisive though...so, who knows...)

By the way, I also love all the acronyms I''m learning here...took me a while to realize IRL = in real life!! I know, I''m horribly uncool...
