What would some examples be of "steep/deep" crown and pavilion angles?

Thanks,
Lynn

Is this a bad thing, or can it be ok when considering all of the other variables?

Thanks for the examples.

Also, what could be considered the "cut-off" for steep and deep (i.e., where does "OK" end and steep and deep start?!)?

Also... what elmo asked... Is there ever a time when steep and deep is OK?

Thanks!

Some of the steep/deep stones are very nice, but just not near the top enough to rate as truly "ideal" even if they are AGS0. Where to draw the line.....I draw it on the AGA 1B

at 35.8 degrees and 44% pavilion depth.... I almost never see diamonds cut that way, but "in theory" that is where I make my invisible line in the sand.

If you want to play it safe go for no more than 35 degrees, 40.8 degree pavilion. That's about 43% pav depth, I believe....This is still a little steep/deep, but not as severe.
