steam cleaner vs. ultrasonic

Hi,

I have a micropave ring (Ritani endless love) and was wondering, which would be better for my ring? It sometimes gets dirty right under the gallery and my jewelry cleaner doesn''t get to that spot. Would a steamer (e.g. jewel jet) do the trick or do I need an ultrasonic (e.g lasonic) ? My jeweler uses an ultra sonic when I bring it to him but I am paranoid it will cause a stone to fall out.
