Found this diamond on a second hand site. It is already set so we would switch out the setting. If we purchase we won't be able to see it in person first. There aren't any up close clear pictures either. Here is a link to the report http://www.agslab.com/reportTypes/dqd.php?StoneID=0006644604&Weight=.91&D=1

The price is fabulous and it hits all our criteria but I want to be sure in case we pull the trigger.

I think I read something that you can't go wrong with an AGS0. On top of that its VS1 (ags 3) any thoughts? Thanks!

HCA was .6

Looks good. But ask about a return policy and the existing condition of the diamond. Good luck!

That is a stone that I'd prefer to see the idealscope image because of the pavilion angle being 40.4. With that crown angle, I'd like to see the pa closer to 41. However, if it is really a terrific deal, I'd probably do it. But the previous reply is correct, you need to be sure of the condition of the stone, so if this is local, I'd meet them at a jeweler who can verify that the stone matches the AGS report and that it is in the condition stated on the report(as in, no chips, etc.)

Not a good return policy - you only get a credit..45% of rapport value.. If we didn't like it was thinking about selling it to a vendor as a trade.

It's a consignment site where they send it to an independent gia gemologist to make sure everything matches up. Money is held in escrow.

So it would be a bit of a risk but its right on budget for just the stone at 5500. Comes with a setting "in 2.5carats of platinum" (whatever that means i cant tell from pic if its pave or plain) which im thinking of selling or trading for the setting I want which is 1800. A comparable diamond is 8300.

They must have meant grams of platinum unless it has a whole lot of diamonds in that setting! Sounds like a good deal as long as you don't care if it is not the best of the AGS ideal cuts. But I will admit that I'd be tempted to buy it at that price.

So do you think yuki at idj could find a diamond just as beautiful with a vatche u113 for around 7500. I was thinking if we didnt go with this one we'd be looking at gia excellent cut h/I si1's so of course this is looking great to me. Would this one be worth the risk compared to what I would have to get otherwise.

Do you have the date that the report was issued? AGS refined their cut proportion guidelines in 2000 and then began issuing light performance grades in 2006 ( I believe,if I'm wrong someone will help me out here). Therefore stones graded as AGS0 prior to this may no longer receive the current AGS0 cut grade. I will link you the OctoNus cut charts but it looks as though your stone falls into the the AGS EX category based on the 2008 table, though this is only a guideline as AGS uses other technologies to establish light performance.

As someone has already mentioned, I would also want to be sure that the clarity hasn't changed because of damage to the stone.
