I''m still a few months away from proposing but wanted to get the process started early enough that I could find the perfect ring. I''ve read enough of the posts here to know that there are some very smart people here with great ideas and willing to help. My girlfriend and I went to a few of the big name stores and it looks like a round diamond solitaire is what she likes best. Her ring finger is a size 4 and from what we saw, anything around 1.25 looked great on her.

Based on the forums, I contacted Lesley at Brian Gavin and got an almost instant response with the following stone: 1.234, G, VS2 Brian Gavin H&A. Let me know what you guys think and I''d also be interested in seeing your ideas for a setting.

Thanks

Hopefully I''ve attached the Aset image

Looks like a great diamond!

great stone! What kind of setting do you have in mind--vintage, modern, plain emtal, pave, halo, soitare, three stone...give us a general idea of your style and we can suggest some setting ideas...

As far as setting goes, solitaire was what she liked best. We stopped by Tiffanys and she of course loved their 6 prong setting. She seemed to like something classic that would not draw attention away from the diamond. I''ve started to look at the Leon Mege settings along with what Brian Gavin has on his website.

Have you looked through the blog on Brian Gavin''s website? There are quite a few beautiful solitaire designs there.

How bout this one...shows the diamond off beautifully!

EDIT
Check out Mark Morrells work also...his work is gorgeous!

Beautiful stone!!

I'd stick it in a plain 6 prong solitaire, nothing to take attention away..
