Hey,

I've been a long time lurker and finally am about to pull the trigger on these rings. Debating between a 6x6mm and 6.5x6.5mm cushion cut which seems to be a good side on my fiancé's size 4.5 finger.

I want both bands to be 1.7mm once polished. Side stones and halo will be lab grown diamonds, they are all 1.5mm.

Still not sure which cut to go with for main stone, and whether to go with 14k or 18k white gold. Fiancé is worried about it turning yellow and having to get it dipped often....

Would love to hear your thoughts and advice.

This is the inspiration we started with

Go with a 6.5 mm stone, that will be equivalent to a 1 carat round in diameter.

Also, don't buy her wedding band. Unless its part of your culture, let her choose her own band. It is very common to NOT get a matching band as you have shown. Its very much in fashion NOT to have a perfectly matching band.

For metal, can you do platinum? That will avoid the re-plating.

The entire halo should be tilted away from the main stone by 20 degrees. This will limit the metal visible from the sides and provide a much better side view.

The stone should be seated into the halo. They show the stone way above the able in the example you posted. Look at the diamond ring example. Can you see how the girdle (wide part) of the stone should be hovering just above the halo stones? In the CAD - it almost looks too low.

In yellow gold, this is what the halo will look like (for reference). I prefer the plain shank like this, not pave, but I just don't like the feeling of the pave between my fingers. Personal preference.
