Hello =)2

I realize that Starsgem isn’t a popular vendor of choice when it comes to lab diamond projects, but I decided to try them out since I haven’t had a bad experience with them. I’ve had one moissy ring made with them and recently purchased a loose OMC moissy that I’m still not sure what to do with; both experiences were good.

After buying a 5 stone moissy band off Amazon, I was itching to get the diamond version and I didn’t want to wait for my husband to “gift” me one. So I took a chance and bought one from Starsgem. I figure a setting like this would be simple enough to complete. The diamonds are 4mm, colorless (DEF range), VVS quality and the setting is in white gold. So cttw is probably around 1.25. It took about a week to complete:

I’m anxious to get it! Hopefully I get to share some IRL pics soon! :mrgreen2::eek2:

Thanks, the representative I worked with (Jamie) only sent me one; the photos above are screenshots of the video she sent me. I'll try and see if I can post the actual video later!

Funny enough I’ve just posted about my order with Starsgem half an hour ago!

Your ring looks stunning! I can’t wait to have a picture/video of my bands.

Sorry, I didn't see your thread until you mentioned it! I usually hop around the various subforums here so I tend to miss a lot. I've worked with Demi before and I liked her, but for this ring I worked with Jamie. I think I prefer Demi, but Jamie wasn't too bad. :)

OMG, you don’t need to apologize! I just meant, that I rarely see here posts about Chinese vendors, and we funnily posted about the same vendor almost simultaneously.
I hope you will be satisfied with your band!

Haha, thank you! And I hope we both love our bands! I'll make sure I update this thread once I receive it. I think there is some hesitancy to work with the Chinese vendors here, but after working with Tianyu and Starsgem on moissy and being satisfied with those, I didn't hesitate to try making a simple project for lab diamonds. Not to mention the price for the ring was hundreds of dollars less than working with someone in the United States. :D

It looks great! I want a lab diamond cross and considered them but I got nervous. I would love to see how you feel about it once it comes!

For sure! I am hoping it arrives by the end of this week, if not early next week. I've heard mixed things about Starsgem, but I personally haven't had issues, other than minor communication misunderstandings and differences in price quotes among the sales reps. I think major problems arise if you try to get a really ornate project or if you try and start a project before a major holiday, which can lead to delays. I also wouldn't use them for larger stones; their prices tend to be significantly higher than Ritani and I'm also not a fan of the proportions for many of the large diamonds (1ct +) they have for sale.

Tianyu is also a good option. I think most people recommend them as their work is more refined (I also have a moissy ring from them which I love, too!) and they are more consistent, but they're also priced a lot more than Starsgem. But I wouldn't get a center lab diamond from them either for the same reasons I mentioned above.

I picked up my ring from Starsgem today! It took about a week and I couldn’t wait to get off work to get it from FedEx. It’s so sparkly!!! :kiss2: And the stone size is perfect! Definitely not too big or too small!

Please pardon my dry hands and garbage photos; it’s been very dry here and I’ve been washing my hands a lot at work. I’m also very excited, lol.

Sorry, I haven’t figured out how to do videos…

Overall I’d have to say my experience with Starsgem was great, especially for the price (I don’t know how comfortable Starsgem reps are with sharing pricing, but my ring was under $650, including shipping) and turnaround (a little over 2 weeks from making the ring to delivery at my city). Starsgem also has several sales reps so if you don’t feel like you’re vibing with one or think the price quote you get is too high, you can always ask another rep to work with you. This is different from Tianyu where you can only work with one rep. Anyway, that is all! =)2

Sorry, I should clarify my right hand ring size is 3.5 and I was quoted for 4mm colorless (DEF) VVS lab diamonds in 10k white gold. I think I would have been fine with near colorless and a lower clarity but I wasn’t offered this. Also I figured since the price was already low so it didn’t matter.

This turned out gorgeous!!! Thank you for sharing it! It helps to see that size on a real person's hand. My black diamonds are being replaced with a 5 stone with diamonds just a teensy smidgen smaller (3.7mm).

Love love ❤️
