I think that a pair of earrings I inherited are Star Sapphires. How do I clean them or care for them?

Sorry I don''t have photos yet.

Thanks for any info you can give me.

I''m interested in hearing this as well - I have an antique star sapphire ring that I have no idea how to clean.

Please post pics of your earrings - I''d love to see them!

Soapy water and a soft cloth to wipe it down. Ammonia free jewellery cleaning solutions should be safe as well. I wouldn''t go the ultrasonic or steaming method.

Ditto on the above. I wouldn''t go with ultrasonics, not because of stones (as sapphires are among the most durable of them), but because estate and antique pieces may be worn down and quite fragile.
