This is my first post but I've been lurking for nearly a month. I was looking for a fairly inexpensive star sapphire for my daughter whose birthday is in September. While searching I came across this rather inexpensive star ruby. I realize it has flaws but the color is perfect. My daughter is an Army officer whose branch color is crimson red. It's from an Etsy vendor and I'm waiting for a custom quote to set it in a silver pendant. I'm not looking for a fine jewelry piece just a fun casual piece. It's African 4.8 cts 10x8.3mm heat treated only .
