hello!

as a longtime lurker, first-time poster, i need some advice with my "set."

i purchased this eternity band a year ago, and though it is too big, it was a "deal" and i thought i'd be able to make it work. i recently purchased a comfort-fit band to stack on top of it to prevent it from slipping, but do you think it looks a little too thin/small for the eternity band? i had tried on the tiffany bezet platinum band, and it looked beautiful with it. it seemed much thicker and complemented the eternity band better. does anyone know where i might be able to find one similar to that without the tiffany premium? the bezet ring would be my last resort...

please excuse the horrible iphone pictures:

sorry that was posted using my husband's account!

is anyone able to offer any suggestions or advice??

I think that it is definitely too small with your eternity, which is gorgeous btw! I think that it looks so beautiful on it's own that I would be hesitant to stack anything with it. Have you tried sizing beads to help keep it from slipping? It's so pretty and I think adding another band will distract from it.

thank you for the lovely compliment! :) i had considered adding sizing beads, but i thought i'd use this as an opportunity to add some stacking rings with it. hehe.

It is a beautiful band on its own - can you stack as a RHR or move this to your RH and create a stack to join your wedding ring?

IMO, this eternity band is too large and any stackers would look disproportionate. I say let this rock it out on its own and create a whole new look as an alternative, not as an accompaniment, to this ring.

Gorgeous ring you have!

thank you!!

is it too large of a band for even a simple platinum band? i don't know why, but i really feel that something is missing from this as a stand alone piece. maybe because i can feel that the sizing is too large?

my original wedding ring is impossible to stack, so i was interested in using this as a starting piece... :P

It's a great ring- something of that size would be great as a stand alone ring.

What if you stacked a plain band on either side to balance it out a bit? It is a truly gorgeous eternity

+1

Good idea - purchase a 2nd band, just like your WB (and still start that stacking set for a RHR!!)

Proportion is everything when trying to stack a plain band with a substantial band.

I wear a band with my own substantial diamond band but it took me a long time to get it right. I found that pairing a knife edge band that was a good 2mm thick/tall, AND sized larger than my blingy band, worked best because then the plain band stood out far enough from my hand to be a good compliment to my blingy band.

Here is a photo so you can see what I mean. I also found the knife edge really works because the gently sloping side makes the band look like it tucks into and is part of the diamond band. Hopefully you see what I mean.

I also found that it looks best work towards my body, not away as you are wearing the one in the photo.

Hope this helps!

DandiAndi, Enerchi - thank you for the great suggestion! i am going to try that at a tiffany's later this week!

Dreamer_D - thank you for your gorgeous example! i agree, a more substantial band is necessary to complement this ring... i do however, have to stack on top of the eternity as opposed to below, in order to prevent the eternity from slipping. your set is beautiful, and i do prefer the plain band on bottom!

ETA: the plain band i ordered is a 2.5mm band that is about 2mm in thickness. does anyone know where i would be able to purchase anything thicker??

First of all: Wow, your ring in gorgeous :appl: I love it. Congrats!
I also think that your comfort-fit ring is too small with your eternity ring. Just go and try it with a wider ring (6-8mm).

But I also agree that you can wear this ring as a stand-alone ring or RHR or stacking anything with it.
