Something simple - 3 identical rings - each made with 3.5 point stones. 18kt yellow, 18kt rose and 18kt white, by DKJ. Ably assisted by my dogs, Cirrus and Ballin.

Thanks @missy - I truly love them, and they're perfect for me. I knew it as soon as I saw them; something in my head went "Aaaaaaaahhhhhhhh...." (contented sigh).

It was a circuitous route. I bumped around between .18 of ct and 5.36 ct - and I think I hit every category in between. But this is 'THE one' - in exactly the same way that the halo wasn't.

One happy girl here. :)

And following your setting journey and wishing you the very best - settings are a nightmare!

Aww thank you @mrs-b! Yes it is a challenging process and I loathe to do a custom setting just because I know how often it doesn't turn out the way one hopes it will- especially with my visualization limitations.

I have been reading threads where savvy PSers went custom ultimately to redo and redo again. Each of their settings beautiful but not quite right for them. I know there are no guarantees and one tastes change through the years but I would be so much better off if I could find an already beautiful vintage setting that fit Bubbalah's aesthetic.

As a number of my close friends who have seen my ring in person have pointed out the setting she is in now is a beautiful setting in its own right so waiting until I am more confident of the best setting for her isn't the worst option. Shockingly (to me) my dh really likes the setting she is in which is quite surprising to me because he hates halo settings generally and before I got the ring he said we are changing the setting right? LOLOL. Now he likes it. But it is not her forever setting.

Maybe it is the purist in me that wants an old cut stone to have old cut diamonds and not modern ones in the setting or maybe it is the non fussy low maintenance girl in me who just wants the main diamond to be the only star of the show. IDK. As a good friend pointed out yesterday I need to look at all the settings I love and decide why do I love them. Is it the curved lines that I prefer over straight edges etc.

I am thrilled for you that you have the perfect setting for your gorgeous diamond and objectively your ring is stunning and looks beautiful on your hand. One might say perfection is the enemy of good but you have shown that perfection is simply that. Perfection. Poetry on your finger.

And since this is show me the stack here is my stack at the moment...I should be sleeping since it is quite early here on a cold rainy Saturday morning but sleep eludes me so might as well be constructive with the time right?

Thank you @renwea - I must return the compliment. Your opal ring is an extraordinary array of colours! What a fantastic find!
@missy ah, Bubbalah, always a pleasure to see you! Are those new rings in the stack though? The one immediately under B and then an engraved one between the blue stacker and the diamond band?

yes the one immediately under Bubbalah is a pink diamond rose gold band from Leibish. And yes the one between the french cut sapphire band and the bottom of the stack suisse cut band is new too. It's a platinum engraved band I bought a few weeks ago. Better photo of the vintage engraved band (new to me) below.

Bottom is a Tiffany’s Infinity ring. Then a David Yurman Black Diamond band. A citrine eternity band from Jareds, a diamond band of unknown origins and a Tacori diamond and ruby band which is my daughters birthstones

Love that rose band.Is it from DK?
Thanks. Yes, both the top and bottom rings are rose gold from DK. They are more similar in color than the picture. Bottom is new. Great detail. Trying to decide the best stack with thevtwo rose gold.

Love your stack! Just gorgeous together.
