Hello all,

I have the .SRN and .STL files for 2 diamonds that I am going to go see this Friday. Does anybody have any experience running the Visual Performance Analyzer or any other calculator that can be exported using the .SRN & .STL files? What is the best software that uses the files?

I have seen Gary H, Rhino and JohnQuixote discuss the software but I'm not really knowledgeable enough to follow their feedback. I didn't see a really recent thread either.

Thanks in advance.

Greetings FF,

Here's what you got.

In the diamond that ends in 3090**edited by moderator, NO commentary on stones for consideration by trade**

Only 1 set of upper halves indicate "digging" which you will not see with the eyes. This one also exhibits more dark reds under the table, which ... while not an earth shattering difference visually from the more pale reds under the table of the first is still preferable when given the choice. :sun:

Wow... You the man Rhino!

This certainly seems to expose more issues than I thought looking at the idealscope image. In your expert opinion, do you consider this a super ideal diamond that it is advertised to be? (#8007) Would you want to keep shopping or are we splitting hairs here?

(#8007) How do you feel about the angle combos for light performance? Crown is on the higher side and the pavillion was listed as 40.7 but actually the average is 40.8.

Boy the "averages" listed can really be misleading. Just look at the crown that I discovered on this other I was really high on.

Hey Fox, crown 4 in your table seems an anomaly.

Yes. It is a super-ideal. The angles and precision are tight. The diamond has a beautiful actual ASET posted on the vendor's website. The H&A and ASET shot directly off the diamond show it to have a bit stronger result than the model above, but models are just that.

If you are feeling cautious, may I suggest your read on the vendors website why this diamond meets their criteria?

Rockysalamander,

That is exactly it. I was just feeling a little cautious because the model was a little bit of a surprise. It kinda appeared it might be leaking light under the table.

You are probably right regarding the shot of the Aset. I was just trying to figure out all I could before I ship the check off next week.

@gm89uk,

Regarding Crown 4 being an anomaly, the Sarin report seems to be pretty consistent with the others.
Twist between 3&4 seems to vary a little. (this is for photo 8007)
