Hi PSers
First, I'd like to thank Mayk for posting her beautiful ring, which motivated me to give my old love, a 1.2F solitaire a makeover.
A friend sees result of the makeover and wants to do the same with hers. Our RBs are of similar dimensions. Mine has 16 melee, the RB sitting on the halo, with the girdle showing but no airline. My friend is thinking of using smaller melee so as to show off the center stone even more. I'd imagine a square halo should have same number of melee on each side so if she wants to use smaller melee her options would be:
1) use 20 (mine has 16) melee
2) keep it at 16 but space them out
3) 16 melee, the RB may have to set a bit higher as the halo is smaller in comparison
I have obviously assumed the halo has to be in multiple of 4's melee so please do correct me if I'm wrong. Would love to hear your thoughts about above options, AND if there are other options that can be considered.
Thank you!
