I''d like some feedback on this stone from those who have SEEN them or bought them... and what are the prices running for 1-2 carats?

i have seen them and they are nice. for the price, i would rather get a bigger round. they don''t have a substantial square look and the face up size is smaller for the carat weight.
pricing is about the same as a well cut round of the same weight.

Hey Cehrabehra,
My e-ring is a Square H&A. You can see pics of it here

I LOVE my stone. It''s sparkley, beautiful & there''s nothing better than catching a glance of arrows at certain angles.

I never wanted a round stone & this is the perfect solution for a couple where one doesn''t want a round (me), but your other half want something ultra-sparkley (as opposed to an emerald cut or an asscher (my first loves)). When I look at it, I see a square stone. It does not have sharp corners like a Princess, but it does have straight edges.

I do not know the cost because the ring was a gift from my fiance. Sorry I can''t help you out there!

Are you considering a Square H&A?

Good luck!

:) I''m ---considering--- it... I''ve had a cushion saga in my head and at LEAST this is still considered a cushion cut LOL But my number one quality that I want is fire. Lots of fire. The square h&a isn''t what I was hoping for, but it might be what I settle for... I hate that word settle LOL I know I could get something really spectacular in a round, but I really don''t want a round. I''m not really fond of the arrow thing really, but if it will bring me the fire I''m looking for... how chunky is the fire you see? When you see the arrows, are they black like in the photos? or do they reflect different colors? I haven''t seen one like this yet in person with the H&A.

Your ring is really pretty - I love the crown of your setting a lot :) Well, really the whole setting is gorgeous! lol! I''m going to go find a jubilee and see what that looks like... the only thing I wish were different about the H&A squares is that in a round you can set it so the points are at 12 and 6 which I prefer and with the squares you''re pretty much at 1 and 11

cehra,
the ''arrows'' (facets) just like in any diamond are not black. sometimes when you take a photo, they will become obstructed by the camera and look black but you don''t see them that way in real life. they look just like any other diamond (only perfectly sized the same and symmetrical).

Cehra. You may want to take a look at a Flanders Ideal Square cut diamond. I am picking mine up next week. Its a 1.79 ct and its awesome. Sparkles like a round but lines of a square. It wasnt the easiet diamond to find but i''m glad i did. Good Luck!

Hey! sorry for my slow response...

Anyway, I see a lot of fire in my stone, however I don''t think it''s quite the same as a cushion. I think the facets are smaller & depending on the lighting reflect much more white light than colored light. However, at times all I see is tons of fire!

At times, I see the arrows as black, but most times they are silvery or not visible at all. I love when they are black because they stick out & I love the symmetry/evenness of everything going on within the stone.

Thanks so much for the comments on my setting! I do love it very much.

Good luck in your search. I know you''ll find something that you love & adore with enough searching - even if it seems painful in the process.

I hope so! Every day I think to myself I should just get {fill in the blank} and be done. And some days I think, ah, I don''t really NEED one anyway... I feel like throwing in the towel. But I know people searched a lot longer than I and are just thrilled with the result... so I persevere... I am narrowing cut down a little... I''ve been doing searches and have found some threads about older cuts but I''ve also had people tell me that older cuts look flat and empty and have little to no fire or brilliance at all. Ugh!
