I''m consdieing this stone for a fun necklace. I know nothing about Spectrolite- is it something I could use for everyday wear?
Also, any ideas for a necklace? I would like to find a local person to make the necklace but I need to come up with some inspiration pictures.

Spectrolite (J/D) 5.8 ct. 14.8 x 18.1 mm. [Gec: N] Freeform cabochon. Superb material from Finland with a directional, but strong and total shiller flash in gold, green and vivid blue. JB.

Spectrolite is the trade name for Labradorite feldspar from Finland. It should be durable enough for a necklance/pendant with reasonable care in a protected setting. It''s Mohs hardness 6-6.5 so it would need to be kept away from harder stones in your jewelry box. Sharp knocks should be avoided because feldspar has perfect cleavage and can split easily. Still several varieties like sunstone, moonstone, etc., are widely used in jewelry.

The description says the play of color is "directional." That means the stone will be very showy when viewed at one angle and dead at another. Sometimes such stones can be very effective in pendants if they can be oriented properly vertically. I''d ask ACS if it orients well for pendant use.
