Sorry another newbie question!

So I''m pretty sure I have settled on a custom design for my 3-stone (yellow middle diamond) band. I''m gonna get Birks to copy the Tiffany Lucida 3-stone setting

which they said they can do, making the middle prongs out of yellow gold to hold the centre diamond. My question is, when they join the yellow gold and platinum, will there be a seam there (visible line of some sort) since they will stop the yellow where the prong ends? Sorry I no nothing about jewelry or metals etc.... sorry if this is a stupid question!

I didn''t know Birks make custom rings .. let alone copy a T&CO design!

They will do custom, I was told when I visited, though personally I think they would overcharge like they do for their own settings.

If done properly there will be no seem.
