Sad freakin day. The business shut its doors and my job is gone. I was doing so well and finally feeling like life was stabilizing. Just needed to vent to my PSer friends. I know I'll be ok (I'm left with excellent references which is helpful) and I'm sure unemployment is on the horizon but god is this scary. Not to mention NO support for the past two months :angryfire: Life ain't so easy sometimes.

Ugh, @Elliot86 86, life's curveballs are very disheartening. I'm invoking the PS fairy duster to send you loads of PS dust for a quick turnaround of the situation. I hope you find fulfilling and stable employment soon. (((hugs)))

I'm so sorry, Elliot. I have been there, albeit in slightly different circumstances. I will spare you my story. Keep us updated. Please. Best of luck!

So sorry, I hope things turn around for you @Elliot86

Thanks. Definitely not fun, and right before school starts. I know our boss is sad and upset.

I am sorry to hear this - can only imagine how disheartening it is. Lots of dust for something bigger and better around the corner for you!!

Best of luck finding employment soon.

I'm so sorry to hear that. Sending good vibes your way!

HI:

Never a good time for such news. Employment/success vibes across the miles....

kind regards--Sharon

Wishing you the best. As hard as it might be, try to stay as positive as possible.

I'm so sorry!

:(2I am so sorry.

Sorry to hear the news...hang in there and things will get better soon!

Sending PS dust for all needing jobs! I know how it goes, and we always seem to need dust in my family too. Good luck. Maybe a new opportunity will pop up soon. Or make an opportunity if you can. My 31 year old daughter is doing that right now, and it's going to be a rough 8+ months, but worth it. Take care!

I am so sorry to hear that. Sending mega dust your way.

Sorry Elliot. Dust for good things ahead for you!

Can you collect unemployment pay from Department of Labor?
I'm sorry this happened to you and hope you will turn this around soon. /hug

I'm so sorry @Elliot86 I know how stressful and upsetting being laid off can be. Best of luck. I know something will turn up for you and in the end you will be in an even better place. (((hug)))

Yeah thankfully our boss is helping everyone with letters of recommendation and unemployment is already well underway (though will in no way cover life in general).

My partner does a fair amount of music teaching and graphic design from home so he can help with the monkeys (kids) while I hit the pavement looking for a new gig.

I'm sorry. It totally sucks when it's not your choice to leave.

I never collected unemployment. I probably should have because I'm entitled to it. My head wasn't on straight and its just only a tad bit straighter now lol. Dont be me and please do look into it.

I hope you find a new job Soon. Then maybe you can refer me in internally lololol. :wavey:

Sorry to hear your job went by the wayside, @Elliot86. It's hard to keep all aspects of life on track at the same time. Sending job dust your way. I hope you find something suitable soon.

Oh no! Sorry that you’re dealing with this too! (I got laid off two weeks ago.) I hope that things look up quickly and that you find this to be a stepping stone to something better (fulfillment wise and/or financially). All the best to you!

That sounds really rough. I hope you find something else which is perfect for you soon. Lots of dust for your search.

So sorry to hear this news. Stay positive & big hugs!

Elliot, I'm so sorry! That sucks.:blackeye: Sending you buckets and buckets of good luck dust in your search. (((Hugs))).

I'm sorry this happened. Praying a new opportunity arises soon. Remember, when one door closes.... Could be something better around the corner. ;))

My Dad always encouraged applying for unemployment. He said that the govt takes so much that we should get back what we can!

Elliot, good luck in your search for a new job! Wishing you what you desire...or even better.

Big hugs. Sorry to hear about the trial. Good luck that your next position will provide security and stability!

Oh heck yah to unemployment. I've been working since I was 14, if I need it I'm using it!

My husband did take unemployment. We were about to adopt a baby when he was part of a massive layoff by a bank for the first time. I thank God that at that time I was still working, so that we had to put the adoption on hold-which crushed me-since he was then not employed-but at least we had my income. The next time he was laid off I was home with a child!

Have I mentioned that I simply love huge banks?
