Somebody's Gotta Buy This Piece!

That was me!!! Will keep you in mind. It's so comfy, I'm looking at transforming others to this type of shank. I'm a 6 at knuckles and 5 at base of finger :(

You are a balm on my magpie heart! Nice for me to know it’s in the PS family <3

That actually makes me really happy. Wear it in good health!

Who likes colored, untreated diamonds? This is a Victorian one, definitely fancy

I’m a bit obsessed with this ring but out of funds since buying that OEC. The story with all the details is no longer up but it’s got 15 OMC, $1300. I’ve chatted with this seller and she’s lovely. IMG_9662.png

19th century ring. Delicate Pearl, ruby and emerald, looks early Victorian.

From same vendor, a Sapphire cabochon 18k ring with rose cut diamond halo.

Sweet turquoise ring Very small size 3

They are one of my favorite sellers!

I'm looking to use jewelry as a bandaid for trauma. I just received very, very upsetting news that usually lands me in depression but I'm channeling that energy into jewelry instead to rebuild my collection I sold off to fund stupid IVF.

Budget: not that much, but it's relative based on "deal" as I can't help but get turned on by deals.

Ring size: 8-9.5 depending on finger

Style: nothing in particular as I am an enthusiast of really just petting my jewels like Gollum. "PS quality" is probably the easiest gist. Antique, vintage, modern, yellow vs. white metals, all good. I appreciate it all.

Is there anything out there to save from being melted or destroyed or recut or?
Anything with OMCs that are wonky-ish that I can reuse to make a halo for something I have, so I can spend months distracting myself from dealing with my trauma with setting design and wait times?

I’m so sorry about your recent news. I may have something that could work for you. Feel free to reach out to me via searching for Kgizo on LT if you are interested.

Yes, me too, they have a huge and lovely antique inventory and they test metals with XRF. Bookmarked.

This may be the wrong place to post, but as I think about resetting my OEC, do you have any favorite people to work with? I see Sako and DK come up often on this forum but thought i'd ask this trusted group for your opinions. I can delete if I should repost somewhere else.

I've pretty much always used DK once I started working with them, so cannot recommend anyone else from personal experience, but people like CVB, and there are a few others as well that I'm sure folks can recommend.

It depends so much on the style you're looking for! For vendors who will typically set outside stones, other names you'll see a lot are CvB (https://www.instagram.com/cvb.inspired.design/), Maytal Hannah, Erika Winters (I'm biased, she's who I'm going with but oof the price!), and Steven Kirsch. For a totally different vibe there's Cheyenne Weil who recently set a spinel for me and was a real pleasure to work with. Victor Canera and Leon Mege may or may not set the outside stone, you would need to reach out to ask. I think DK is so popular because he sets outside stones, has a lot of benches at different price points, does a variety of different looks rather than having a strong design sense like some of the others, and it's good work especially for the price.

Incredibly insightful and helpful - thank you!

I’ve used both & Caysie (CVB design) and DK is my fave to work with. He’s the only one I’ve worked with more than once. I personally think he provides the best customer service of the 3.

I second these options, but I’m also dying to work with Sako on something if I can’t find a real antique and want to recreate that kind of look. I’ve been a repeat CVB customer for years and will continue to work with her, as her pieces are always gorgeous. The process takes a long time, but it’s worth it. I’ve yet to use DK but feel like his work is always amazing and also best from a budget perspective!

Great feedback, thank you! I like the look of rings from adrianne barbone and esterwhile which have more of an antique feel that really allow diamonds to shine. I'm going to keep doing research on these great recs.

I'm absolutely smitten with this chunky monkey brooch!
