Those are Beautiful. Love the first one, looks like a butterfly. No wonder you are proud of them.

Are you planning to set them into jewelry?

Probably someday. I was thinking about taking the smaller stones and maybe making some opal art.

Opallover, I am not a huge fan of opals, but I have to say, your collection is both beautiful and extensive! I''m impressed! Both of my nieces'' birthstones are opal, and I am really wow''d by looking at your collection! My MIL is always on the lookout for opals to give as gifts to them, and now I can tell her there are more colors out there should they be interested. Thank you for posting your collection--they are just gorgeous. You''ve opened my eyes (and hopefulluy others) to a whole new viewpoint!

This picture is a small piece of crystal opal and it's wrapped in Sterling Silver.
It's clear when you look through it, and this nice bright blue when you have the light source behind you.

The Joker was busy this weekend working on this Opal that I found in Virgin Valley, Nevada. This one is wrapped in 14kt gold. It''s one of the best ones for red fire that I have seen in a long time. The opal is ten times nicer looking in person than the picture shows.

Opal is my birthstone and I want a really nice stone, but no one around here carries good ones....mainly the milky white ones without much life.

Joker!

I love how you set your stones. Very pretty.

Honestly, I buy my opals off the internet directly from the miners. I have not been disapointed yet.
