I know diamonds # 1 and 2 are better. But I am also on a budget. I would appreciate some feedback.

Thanks,

MMoore

There may be some "surprises" in those SI2s... have you seen them or some account of what exactly makes them SI2 ?

That 64% table on the last stone doesn't sound encouraging... and the numbers on #2 do not add up at all (is that 61.9% depth and 61% for both depth and table?)

The first stone sounds good "by the numbers".

However, if anything would be bette for both look and your budget, maybe a 0.8-0.9 cts round one would - so that the other specs do not have to take a hit and size would look good too.

The diamonds are clean to the eye and I have viewed them under loops and microscopes, they are fairly clean. I am wondering more about the price. Am I getting a good deal?

Thanks,

MMoore

Have you run a search with your criteria on PS? you may be able to find what you are looking for, but better cut quality. Im by no means an expert, but for 1 ct stones, yours are seeming to run a little on the small side..in mm. a well cut 1ct should be around 6.50mm. Look around..you should be able to find something better..

What is PS?

how about this one?

you would just have to call and see whether its eye clean or not.. good luck!

You have seen them, not I, but #3 sounds way weird (larger culet and table than most coudl help an unusual beauty, but that exception would be farely hard to guess).

Diamonds like #1 and #2 get quotes around $3000 here - so it depends wether those settings are worth the rest (a generic one could well be $100). I would expect less than 3k for the last... but not allot (say, 3k with setting ). All in all, the prices are not exceptional, either way.

Hope this answers the Q somewhat

valeria101,

You have seen diamonds in the 1.00-1.05 ct, SI1 and G range for $3000, where is that? Diamond #1 is about $3600/ct. I don't know about the Rapaport price list, according to this site it is crap. But, the Rapaport says that that diamond goes for $5800/ct, there for $3600 is about 38% off of Rapaport. What type of percentage of Rapaport should I be looking for to be considered a good Deal? Will a jeweler sell it that cheap? I would love to see one around $3000.

Regards,

Run a search on the front page of Pricescope... you will get about 300 quotes for EGL certified stones alone.
