Solitaire with two diamond weddng bands

Hi All,

I am in the process of picking out my wedding ring! Anyway, I love symmetery and I was thinking of putting a diamond band either side of my e-ring. What do you all think? Would it be too much? I have a 2.18 ct solitaire on a thick (3.2mm) knife-edge band made from platinum. Does anyone have any pics of something similar?

I love solitaires with two diamond bands! That is what I have, but my solitaire is a lot smaller and the band is a lot thinner.

I think it's all about the look you prefer. I love solitaires with two bands but only if the shanks on all the rings are very thin. When the rings are thick it takes away from the center stone on the engagement ring, in my opinion.

That being said, do what you like best! I think a shopping trip with lots of pictures is in order, here.

Hi there, I wear a solitaire on a 3.2mm shank with two 1.4mm eternities. My centre stone is much smaller than yours and a different shape, but here is a bigger version of my avatar so that you can get an idea of the proportions.



I think that how well the look works depends on the proportions, like others have said, and also on the contour of the ER shank. With a more domed band or half-round band (as opposed to mine which is half-round but relatively flat in contour) I think it would look quite different and you might need to choose different bands to achieve a pleasing look. My ER shank has flat sides and the height of the channel walls on my eternities is pretty much the same as the ER. I would have chosen lower profile pave bands (not channel set) if my ER shank had been more domed with lower edges. Equally, I am not sure what I would have done if I'd had a knife-edge band on my ER. Probably a single WB.

Personal style is the other consideration. My usual style is pretty clean, sleek and minimalist - so I was not after a decorative/antiquey look at all. I think I achieved what I wanted, which was for two sparkly/white "lines" bordering my ER. You may be after something a bit more blingy
