Hi,
I''ve been browsing for a setting for a square diamond with cut corners. Since some of the stones we''re looking at are supposedly deeper (like the Lucere), I''d like more of the side to be visible. I keep coming back to this simple Elara platinum V-prong setting with a knife edge and about 3mm band. The picture made it look chunkier--it''s very nice in real life!
The setting can be purchased alone. Is this a good idea? I''m concerned the dimensions of a non-Elara stone won''t match up right with the setting. Also, is it overpriced at $1500 (plus possible setting fee)?
I also like the Stuller Solstice 4-prong with knife edge, but the curved prongs seem to match a round stone better. Could you suggest any other specific settings?
