Hi all,

I have a 6-prong solitaire engagement ring. My wedding band will be a 7-stone shared prong band. The diamonds sit fairly low, but there will definitely be contact between the diamonds in the band and the 6 o'clock prong of my engagement ring. I am okay with scratches to the prong as it's quite thick (no durability issues), but I'm worried about the diamonds in my band. Is there any chance the diamonds could be damaged by rubbing the prong? Or from bumping the prong? My engagement ring is 14k white gold.

Thank you!

I have the same combo, i wear a spacer between the bands to protect the prongs on the ER from getting damaged by the stones in the shared prong

Eventually the diamonds will eat into that prong, no matter how thick it is. Just be prepared. The diamonds should be OK but girdle damage is always a possibility.

I have a seven stone band and added a spacer to protect my ring. I actually like the look now that I'm used to it. :wavey:
