Solasfera princess 0.7 or cushion 1.02?

Which one would you choose if the shape between princess and cushion is not an issue, nor the difference in color and clarity since both fit the budget, which one your eye will catch and prefer in a halo ER?

The Solasfera is doing its thing as usual: edge to edge even brightness.
The cushion is slightly elongated. It has strong light return running up and down and diagonally, but weak light return side to side, which is expected.

I voted for the cushion because of the size difference. When set, it looks a proper lady's jewelry.
In comparison, the Solasfera appears more like a teenage princess's jewelry.

In addition, the cushion has more distinctive facet and light reflection patterns; it is very splintery.
The Solasfera is just very bright.

I agree with FP...I would pick the cushion due to size. Whats in your avatar? Do you already have a cushion (with a different cut). If you do I would
probably pick something other than another cushion.

i voted the cushion because i really really really don't like princess stones in a halo. JMO. However, in the video my eye is drawn more to the Solsafera, it's just beautiful!

Thanks for the feedback, overwhelmingly the choice was cushion, however it is a gift from me to my daughter for her engagement, she is 19 and she chose the princess diamond even after she new the voting results.
It is in the process of being sent now to Mark Morrell and once the ring is finalized will post.
It should be an interesting setting.....

Oooh, I don't remember ever seeing a Mark Morrell ring with a princess stone, so am hoping that we will be able to see pics of the completed ring -- he does such wonderful work.

The concept is on MM doodle page and It is called Orchids ring concept (platinum + Red gold accents), the original lab blue stone was similar to the octavia stone so the halo is octagon, however my stone is princess which has 4 sides and here comes MM creativity in keeping the octagon halo with the princess stone.

CAD came in today for the princess cut diamond from Mark Morrell, and I am glad I went with the princess choice for my princess (that is actually my daughter's name ... AMIRA ... means Princess)



Still working on some details and will see how it finalizes...
