LMAO
Let me start by saying that Valerie does not think this is near as amusing as I do...
Today in the middle of chemistry class, she was having a discussion with a newly engaged girl about the importance of getting her ring insured - which started when Valerie showed the young lady how to correctly put on latex gloves over her ring and how to remove the gloves without either tearing the gloves or ripping the prongs off the setting... Note to all glove wearers, this is important: lift the gloves up over the ring while putting on and taking off gloves!
In the midst of the conversation, another person in the class entered the conversation by asking Valerie "so how do you know so much about jewelry?" and Valerie said "because my fiance is a diamond dealer" to which the response from the girl was "Oh, so your earrings are real" and then an exploratory conversation about the earrings...
Enter Valerie back from class:
"Do MY earrings look FAKE?!?!"
And apparently responding by laughing hysterically was inappropriate. I blame an overdose of cold medicine... this would also explain my inability to stop laughing when she said "No, seriously."
Needless to say, her earrings are real and they don''t look fake, but hey, she had to ask... perhaps this is a side effect of taking a college chemistry class with a bunch of young people who are fresh out of high school and who think that 25 is over the hill
